Bringing Enterprise Skills to Life for Local School Children

Year 2 pupils from Charles Williams Church in Wales Primary School in Caerleon are learning valuable lessons in enterprise, leadership, resilience and communication thanks to a new partnership between 2B Enterprising and Redrow.

28 pupils are taking part in the ‘Bumbles of Honeywood’ programme and had their first lesson in networking at the start of the new school year. They learnt about the importance of networking including how to introduce themselves with confidence.

Jayne Brewer, Chief Executive of 2B Enterprising said:

“We partner businesses with education to help bring enterprise skills to life in the classroom. ‘The Bumbles of Honeywood’ is a series of creative and thought provoking books that transport our readers to the enterprising world of the Bumble Family – sharing valuable lessons learned through their journeys and challenges with their friends in Honeywood. These storybooks are accompanied by physical and digital resources for primary school teachers to support the development of enterprise skills in the classroom.”

“Pupils between the ages of 4-8 from over 200 primary schools across England and Wales are currently taking part in the programme and we’ve had a wonderful response from businesses like Redrow who have chosen to partner with their local school.”

“We want to inspire the next generation of ambitious, healthy, ethical and enterprising citizens who confidently make decisions, communicate effectively and contribute positively to their community. Redrow’s support is helping us to make a real difference here in Caerleon.”

Rebecca Penn, Headteacher of Charles Williams Church in Wales Primary School said:

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to inspire young minds and helping to develop the life skills of our pupils so that they can reach their full potential. This is a great programme that is bringing enterprise to life in our classrooms and we were delighted to welcome the team from Redrow to our school.”

Andrew Williams, Area Sales Manager with Redrow added:

“We have a reputation for building high quality homes like our Parc y Coleg development in Caerleon but we also strive to create thriving communities.”

“Our support for 2B Enterprising and Charles Williams Church in Wales Primary School shows what can be done when we work together with local partners to raise the skills of future generations.  We are really proud to be able to offer young people an insight into our world and to help bring enterprise to life.”
